Every Ticket Gives Back
Bhangra in the Burgh has always been about more than the competition. Since 2007, every show has been a fundraiser — with proceeds going directly to local Pittsburgh charities and national organizations doing meaningful work in our communities.
This Year's Charity
Heart of Glass Animal Rescue
Bhangra in the Burgh brings together the top Bhangra teams from across the nation to compete on a single stage for a night of music, dance, energy, and South Asian culture. Since the competition began in 2007, it has been deemed the largest student-run event in Pittsburgh — and each year, we use that stage to raise money for a charity of our choice. This year, all proceeds will be going to Heart of Glass Animal Rescue. We have raised over $110,000 over the years, and we hope to reach new, unprecedented heights this year.
This year, Bhangra in the Burgh XX is honored to support Heart of Glass Animal Rescue, a rescue and sanctuary based in Pittsburgh's Southside. Heart of Glass is committed to rescuing, rehabilitating, and re-homing animals, with particular dedication to those who are often overlooked: elderly animals, those with special needs, and pets facing behavioral challenges. Alongside their direct rescue efforts, the organization works to educate the broader community on responsible animal welfare. Through Bhangra in the Burgh XX, we hope to extend our platform in support of an organization whose commitment to second chances reflects the same spirit of care and community that defines our event.
