Bhangra in the burgh stands in solidarity with the kisaan movement
As a part of our showcase, which will air February 13, 2001 at 6PM, We will be providing educational resources for our viewers to learn more about the protests in India.

We will also have multiple reminders to encourage donating to the farmers protesting throughout the duration of the stream, We view our showcase as a platform to not just highlight the talents of those in the bhangra community, but also to emphasize the importance of Bhangra's roots. our goal is that this showcase will educate viewers on the importance of these protests and how we can support farmers across India.

We look forward to having you watch the showcase, donate to charities, and learn more about the kisaans' protest.

WHat's Our plan?

We hope everyone’s been safe and healthy during these difficult times. Due to COVID-19, we have decided that Bhangra in the Burgh will not host an in-person event this spring. However, as a philanthropic organization and competition, we aim to host an event that brings the circuit together during these hard times as well as celebrates Bhangra all over the world. Our alternative is using this year’s Bhangra in the Burgh as a virtual showcase for teams. This would involve any team affiliated submissions with features from MCs and local Pittsburgh dance teams that will be premiered to the public on our show date of February 13th, 2021. Our main goal is to make BIB accessible to everyone and celebrate Bhangra during these times. We will be releasing more information about registration by the end of next week. Once again, thanks so much for your constant support and we hope to hear from you soon!
Stay safe!
Regards,
BIB 14 Executive Board.

What is Bhangra in the Burgh?

For the past 14 years, Bhangra in the Burgh has been Pittsburgh's premiere philanthropic bhangra competition. It is one of the largest student-run non-profit events in the city of Pittsburgh and one of the most distinguished bhangra competitions in the circuit. Bhangra in the Burgh is a competition entirely run and managed by a board of students at Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh, leading up to the competition on February 13, 2021 at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall.
